Over the Summer…

The Boston Scottish Fiddle Club is on break for the summer.

However…  The Boston Scottish Fiddle Orchestra will be having informal rehearsals over the summer on most Thursday evenings.  If you are thinking about joining the orchestra this is a great time to check it out and get up to speed with the tunes and sets.  More info about the orchestra here.  Email Katharine MacPhail for rehearsal locations.

In the Fall…

The next Sunday workshop is October 1st with Katie McNally, 2:00-6:00.  Visit our Sunday Workshops page for more info about our meetings.

The next Wednesday night session is on September 20th.  Go here for more info about those sessions.

Join us for our Annual Meeting on Sunday, September 10th, open to all members and anyone interested in the club.  The meeting will begin at 2:00, followed by a potluck and session.

Young Fiddlers Workshop Series

Location:  Center for the Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA

Friday, April 28, 7:15 – 9:45 PM

Free for BSFC members, $15 Non-Members

These workshops will be faster paced evenings geared toward musicians under 25.  All instruments are welcome. Expect to learn a tune or two by ear, meet old and new friends and

play a session.  Listeners welcome if space is available.  Meet in the Cafe on the first floor.  Food and drink are available for purchase.

Next Sunday Meeting – May 7

Meeting Location:  Plymouth Congregational Church, 582 Pleasant Street, Belmont (side door)

The Sunday schedule is as follows:

2:00 Beginner/Intermediate workshop (learn tunes at a slower pace)

3:15 – 3:45 snacks / social (bring something to share if you would like)

3:45 Intermediate/Advanced workshop (fast-paced and more advanced)

4:45-6:00 Workshop leader plays a few tune, followed by a session for everyone.

These workshops are open to all ages.  All levels of ability except complete beginner.

Free to BSFC members, $15 non-members.
